About Us

Team Red was formed by the Tour de Cure organizers for riders whose lives have been affected by diabetes and would like to join a team, but don't have an affiliation with any of the other teams.  Whether you have diabetes or ride for a loved one with diabetes, Team Red can be your home - to train, recruit, and fundraise as part of a team.

Think of Team Red as a starter team - we'll help you get familiar with the Tour de Cure and you'll always be welcome at Team Red year after year.  But maybe you'll forge new friendships and join another team next year, or who knows -  perhaps you might want to start your own team next year.  It's all good.  We're here to help you make the most of your Tour de Cure.

If you have a connection to diabetes and would like to join a team - join Team Red!

Ride for awareness, ride for prevention, ride for a cure!

Thoughts from Team Red members...

The Way I See It
by Frank Morrone

O K  guys I have Type 2 Diabeties.
I am not proud of it.
The question is...
Did I do this to myself?
Or is this genetic?
I don't know...
and it doesn't really matter.
What I do know is that I have a problem,
and that traveling down the road
and arriving at the intersection of
'Self Pity' and 'Why Me'
will not do any good.
But what to do?
Do I continue to feel sorry for myself?
What will  that solve?
Think about it.
If I do nothing except exercise the TV remote,
my glucose numbers will climb out of control
possibly to the point of loosing a limb,
or my eyesight
or worst of all my manhood.
It appears that I have a choice
either to slide into oblivion
or get off the couch
and get on my bike!
I chose the bike
and since being diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes
my numbers have come under control
and I am down 40 pounds.
What we all have to remember is the simple fact.

The couch kills.
Hills are tough.
The bike is life!

Come on board...  Team Red welcomes all with Diabetes,
and those who support them.
