Rides & Events

Don't miss out on this year's great rides and fun events!

Just do these two things and won't miss anything:

  • Join our Team Red Philly Meetup Site where we announce and coordinate training rides, Team Red at organized rides, barbecues, parties, and other fun events.
  • Checkout our 2013 Ride Calendar for a summary of rides Team Red is doing this year.  Of course, the Tour de Cure is our premier ride of the year, but we do other rides to show our Team Red force!  There's no better way to promote Team Red and the Tour de Cure than to have our Team Red peloton rolling down the road!

So, exactly what types of things do we have going on this year?

  • Mock Tour de Cure Rides
Practice the Tour route before the big day.
  • Pre-Tour Barbecue
Team photos with our brand spankin' new Team Red kits (jersey and shorts), Andy Poole's roasting a pig, fun times - 2 weeks before the Tour.
  • Monthly FOCUS Rides
Show some force as our Team Red train rolls out on our monthly FOCUS rides!  These rides are organized by bike clubs and other charitable organizations in the area.  There is no fundraising required, except for our Tour de Cure rides, and the registration fees are usually very affordable, within the $20-35 range.
  • Training Rides
Why not train with your Team Red buddies?  We'll have rides for all levels.  Some of our Team Red members host weekly rides, and we'll also partner with bike clubs so we can have a larger selection of rides for different speeds, terrain, locations, and days/times.

Please note that all training rides are done at your own risk.  No insurance is provided for training rides.
  • Fun Events
We're planning fun events throughout the year so we all get to know each other, so we really feel like a team on our rides.  It's not the same if you only meet for the first time on the ride, right?  So we'll have bowling night, barbecues, a day at the ball game, parties - whatever we can manage.  Some of these events will help Team Red raise funds to create a better experience at the Tour de Cure - a better Team Red tent, prizes, things like that.  Try to come out if you can - it'll be great to see you!

*** Ride Leaders Needed: contact Kevin Horio (kevinhorio@yahoo.com) if you would like to lead training rides in your area.  We need ride leaders for all skill levels, so don't be shy.  ; )
